The need for innovation
Why participate in innovation projects? At betteries, innovation projects are the driving force behind our product development. In addition, they also drive our commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment.
Since our foundation in 2018, we have embarked on a journey of discoveries and learnings. We are always setting the focus on turning them into new insights fostering the implementation of a sustainable battery value chain. This includes aspects such as battery system design, battery aging, and much more.
All of this has resulted in a strategy that has pioneered the circular battery value chain. This value chain is now receiving much more attention than when we started our journey 5 years ago.
But our footprint goes beyond the battery value chain. We have extended the transformative potential of second-life batteries beyond stationary storage into key sectors. Key sectors we are addressing include urban infrastructure, climate change initiatives, social innovation projects, and many more.
None of this would have been possible without our active involvement in various innovation projects.
Innovation projects at a glance
Our strategic engagement in innovation projects serves as the cornerstone of our continuous advancement. Take, for example, our participation in the EU-funded BatteReverse project. Within this project, we collaborate with 10 partners. The project’s main goal is to revolutionize battery reverse logistics to manage the anticipated 1.7 million tonnes of end-of-life batteries expected by 2030.
In addition, we are deeply committed to social innovation and sustainability. Projects like SOLUTIONSplus and POCITYF, both supported and funded by the EU, exemplify our dedication to innovating infrastructure and expanding access to clean energy where it’s most needed.
