Last month, we participated in the launch of a new multi-year project: BatteReverse. This EU-funded project aims to build an efficient and sustainable reversed logistics value chain for large electric vehicle (EV) batteries. It will also focus on the economic viability of this value chain by assessing different circular business models supported by a digital twin.
betteries Head of R&T, Dr. Núria González-García, highlights the role that betteries will play in the consortium of eleven partners: “We provide our expertise in upcycling EV batteries, including the knowledge accumulated in the last five years related to battery aging. Together with the other partners, we will focus on improving the assessment of battery status at the end of 1st-life by combining new fast tests with data-driven Machine Learning algorithms”. Dr. Núria González-García is convinced that “developing a community for all the stakeholders involved in the reverse logistics value chain for EV batteries is instrumental for the development of a circular economy around batteries in the European market.”
